    If there is one thing that Jord’s Whole30 taught me, it is that snacks are damn HARD on that thing. I know, I know, you aren’t technically supposed to snack much on Whole30, but that wasn’t the case for him. Eating only 3x a day doesn’t work for everyone, especially Jord who really does get hungry in between meals. I always have snacks in my pockets or bags for us when we are walking around or running errands.

    Typically it’s some sort of clean protein bar or something easy. But not many of the bars are Whole30-friendly or approved so that made life a bit challenging. Many have honey or some sort of added sweetener to them. Continue Reading

    Hello, friends! It is story time..

    When I went on my mini-moon with Jord after our wedding, we stopped in San Fran on our way to Napa. My gem of a friend, Kristine (who I met via Instagram), had these coconut maca balls waiting for me at our hotel when we arrived. They were crunchy, sweet, and full of good-for-you ingredients. Plus they are flat out AMAZING. You can find them at this plant based cafe called Seed+Salt in San Fran.

    As a result, they 100% inspired these Maca Superfood Bliss Balls I am sharing with you today.

    The fact that someone that I met over Instagram basically inspires me to make a recipe, really shows how much Instagram plays a pretty significant role in my life. Dramatic yes, but so true.

    You guys, I don’t even know how to contain my excitement about these Grain Free Chocolate Cookie Dough Bliss Balls. They are vegan, they are gluten free, they have extra protein and they are GRAIN FREE. Like what? Somebody pinch me because I don’t even know how this happened.

    It all started with some vegan chocolate protein powder from AboutTime I got in the mail. Sure I can make protein shakes, smoothies or mix it with milk to get my extra protein fix but these Grain Free Chocolate Cookie Dough Bliss Balls are SO MUCH BETTER!     I’m not sure how I didn’t eat all of these Vanilla Almond Bliss Balls before photographing them. These were almost called Vanilla Almond Crack Balls but I didn’t want to scare anyone away with a blunt name like that. But to be 100% honest these gluten free Vanilla Almond Bliss Balls are seriously addicting! Luckily they are filled with healthy and nutritious ingredients so it’s an okay addiction to have. Yes, I am actually telling you it’s OK to be an addicted to these or really any Bliss Balls for that matter.

    It is crazy to think how far balls have come. It is also crazy to think that when I tell people I like to snack on balls, the inner 8 year old in me doesn’t giggle or think perverted thoughts anymore. Don’t worry, I used to laugh every single time I would talk about them..

    Bliss balls, fat balls, snack balls, you name it.. have become quite popular over the past few years. I have been making these to snack on since before my food blog or Instagram existed. It is so crazy to think how far they’ve come. I would use ingredients like oatmeal, peanut butter, honey and any other random things in my parent’s pantry. Mix them all up in a large bowl and roll them into ball form and I was snacking.

    Fast forward five years and balls are trendy af. They likely fill up your Instagram feed and you may even see them at a coffeeshop or food store near you.

    The best part about making snack balls though is how easy they are. It is such a simple process, I promise you can whip these up. You don’t need an oven or anything besides a food processor and whatever ingredients you are craving. I always joke to anyone who asks me for my recipe that I throw in anything I am craving into the food processor and hope for the best.

    Then I took a bite of these Triple Nut Pistachio Cacao Snack Balls and knew I had write down the ingredients and measurements. These are by far my favorite snack balls yet. They are made with three types of nuts, some nut butter, coconut oil, dates and a couple other goods.  Continue Reading

    You are likely seeing a million types of balls and bites and fatty snacks on instagram every single day. These easy homemade snacks are taking over and that is for a reason you guys, they are dayum GOOD.

    I have been making bliss balls of sorts since before I started blogging. I used to add oatmeal, peanut butter, chia seeds and whatever else I had on hand into a bowl and form into little oatmeal balls. Having little snack bites/balls on hand gives us easy, fast, REAL food. I love these Fatty Coconut Snack Bites because they are made with all healthy ingredients (shocker) and they have no added sugar to them.

    I use ingredients like raw cashews, coconut butter, plant-based protein and ghee to make these extra rich and creamy. I also use a bit of a random ingredient in them for an extra crunch and salty flavor, POPCORN! So random you guys but go with me on this, it is so good! It adds that crunch factor to the bites and I love how it is a like a trail mix salty & sweet snack. This recipe stays best in the fridge but you can definitely put a few in your bag and they’ll be ok for a few hours out of fridge 🙂
