A Weeknight in Times Square: EVEN Hotels

A Weeknight in Times Square: EVEN Hotelsevenhotels2

Believe it or not I have stayed in my fair share of hotels in NYC. Pretty shocking considering I grew up about an hour away in NJ and have lived in the city now for 3 years. There is something extra special about a “staycation” of sorts in NYC though. The city is so magical and has so much to do that it’s nice to escape your daily routine in your home and spend the night somewhere new.

I have heard of EVEN Hotels before and was pretty intrigued by the concept. A hotel dedicated to helping its guest not disturb their own wellness routine. Designed with health and wellness in mind, all of EVEN Hotels are equipped with in-room training zones, natural-fiber eucalyptus bedding (we will chat more about the bedding soon) and a pretty amazeballs snack shop downstairs. Plus their gym is a complete stand out compared to most sad hotel gyms. I was obsessed with their branding and the random inspirational words all around the hotel. You will see a few photos of them in this post.

As soon as EVEN Hotels asked if I wanted to stay over for a night, I was on board. I mean why not? As a creature of habit, I need the extra push to do new things (another reason why I love my job so much, always get introduced to different ventures). Jord was obviously on board too and when he saw there was a Times Square location, he was sold. He works in midtown so that morning commute to work was amazing for him.

We stayed over on a Monday and I checked us in around 2pm. We packed the smallest bag for the night for the two of us. Since all we needed to bring were clothes and a tooth brush. EVEN Hotels provided EO shampoo, conditioner and soaps so I didn’t even have to bring my own. Not having to bring so many products with me was amazing and so convenient.

Our room was on the 24th floor and faced west. I was expecting the room to be a bit bigger being that they make working out so easy for you to do in your room. I had a few more hours of work to do though so I went back to reality for a bit then met up with J. After we finished up dinner we headed back to the hotel around 8:30pm. The front desk staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. You would have thought we were friends for years. Not to mention there was a hotel dog…evenhotels4evenhotels5

The presidential debate was on during our stay so we sat in bed and watched while I worked on my laptop and ate cookies (ragers). The second I sat in that bed, I never wanted to get up. It was SO flipping comfortable. King size bed, two fluffy pillows, black out shades and we were in heaven. There are also these cool lights you can mess around with and change colors that are around the bed. J was easily amused by them for awhile, ha!

We went to sleep and literally couldn’t get up in the morning. J’s alarm went off FOUR TIMES! The black out shades and that bed were so amazing. We slept until 8am! Even on a TUESDAY! Amazing. So well rested after sleeping there. I officially buy into the whole eucalyptus cooling fiber bed they offer. So much that I would like to buy one and those shades ASAP.

I walked Jord to work from the hotel, headed to my barre class and it was back to reality. We loved escaping for the night and feeling “touristy” for a bit. I’d definitely stay at another EVEN Hotel location again. Hopefully they will open one on the west coast because I have to say, it’s pretty awesome seeing a hotel that actually cares and is as neurotic as am I when traveling. I am all about staying active when traveling and of course feeling well rested and my best. EVEN Hotels helped me eat well, rest easy, keep active (at least from a work perspective) and accomplish more during my stay.

    xx, Rach

Thank you EVEN Hotels for having me for the night and for sponsoring this post. All opinions in this post are my own.

Ok, where’s a ticket to NYC.. This sounds like an absolutely beautiful stay Rach! I love that you got to do that and that it was so restful. Sometimes the vacations close to home can be the best because they are so low pressure; no need to bring much, just a few things, and you don’t have to drive far at all.

Wow I’ve never heard of EVEN Hotels either, and I go to NYC pretty frequently. “Staycations” can be so much fun, and it looks like you had so much fun too! 🙂 Can’t believe that room had a bouncy ball in it haha!
