Chocolate Maca Overnight Soaked Porridge

Total Time
Yields 4 bowls

  • 1 cup raw buckwheat groats (soaked overnight)
  • 1 cup rolled oats (soaked overnight)
  • 2 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 2 teaspoon maca powder
  • 1 cups your favorite nut milk (I used cashew)
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup walnuts

  1. Begin prepping the oats and buckwheat the night before by placing each in two separate bowls and covering them with water (I used mason jars)
  2. Place in fridge overnight
  3. In the morning, drain any excess water from the oats and place the oats in small sauce pan (I used my GreenPan 2qt sauce pan)
  4. Rinse and drain the buckwheat groats in a fine mesh colander to remove the gooey-ness on them from soaking, then add to the same pot as the oats
  5. Add cacao powder and maca powder to the pot
  6. Next roughly chop a small handful of walnuts (or nuts of choice) and toast them in frying pan (I used my GreenPan) over medium heat with a little splash of coconut oil, stir and turn heat down to low
  7. Turn on the heat on low for saucepan with oats/buckwheat and add milk to the pot, make sure you stir frequently to evenly warm everything (don't over heat unless you prefer it steaming hot!)
  8. Once done, remove from heat and pour desired amount into bowls
  9. Top with toasted walnuts, banana, cacao nibs, nut butter cinnamon and an extra splash of milk if desired
