So about a month ago I was binge reading Nutrition Stripped (because that’s normal right?) and ever since then I have been ADDICTED to Mckel’s blog. Everything about Nutrition Stripped is amazing. Mckel does such a tasteful job with her recipes, social media and lifestyle posts.
For the past I would say 15 years of my life I have been OBSESSED with growing my hair out long (below my boobs is the real dream). McKel also has an amazing guide to hair growth and what we should do to grow strong and healthy hair. Over the last 2 months, I have been using my new favorite vitamins from MegaFood Skin, Nails & Hair Vitamins that I am swearing by (no this isn’t an ad – 100%g genuinely LOVE these). They are seriously working wonders on me (I may write a guide someday if I ever feel I accomplished the secrets to growing hair) but these vitamins are for real making an impact on my hair growth, I highly recommend them.
Besides my latest addiction to MegaFood Skin, Nails & Hair Vitamins, I have also been using Cocokind Matcha Face Moisturizer. It not only is doing wonders on my skin during this season change but it smells AMAZING. Like I need to remind myself not to start eating it as I am putting it on my face Cocokind also has a ton of other products for your body, eyes, lip balm, and etc. They are an organic skincare line that focus on using the most pure ingredients including virgin coconut oil in their products, plus they don’t use any chemicals – definitely check them out. I started using their eye firming cream to prevent bags/wrinkles (paranoid at its finest).
Any who, when I was looking for some new warm beverages to make now that the seasons are changing, I came across her Turmeric Milk. It consists of nut milk, turmeric, cinnamon, honey and coconut oil. It’s absolutely divine. It’s so sweet and comforting to drink and you can barely taste the turmeric. When I was reading Mckel’s recipe for Turmeric Milk I also learned about some of the (many) benefits of turmeric for our bodies and was inspired to start incorporating it more into my diet. Granted I’d rather be eating chocolate peanut butter cups but I need to my greens in me too right?
So here we are Garlic Turmeric Kale. Even though you don’t taste like chocolate, you are quite delicious if I do say so myself.
This Garlic Turmeric Kale is a savory side dish that you can add to pretty much anything. You can add it into a pasta, on top of tacos, pizza or serve it with some rice and fish or chicken. There are many possibilities here my friend so let’s get a little creative and start eating some more Garlic Turmeric Kale.
This can even be prepped on Sunday in a large batch so you can have it throughout the week to nosh on.
Garlic Turmeric Kale
- 1 bag of baby kale (I buy it already chopped)
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for when eating)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of turmeric (or however much you'd like)
- Heat olive oil and garlic in a pan over medium-high heat
- Add kale and sauté for about 5-10 minutes until it starts to soften
- Sprinkle over the turmeric and mix well
- Sauté until kale is complete soft & enjoy
