The best sweet potato fries recipe! With my tip on how to get them extra crispy.

I eat sweet potato fries every single day. In fact, I am eating them right now as I type this blog post up.

They are my go-to always. And I love allllll kinds of sweet potatoes. My personal favorite are the Japanese Sweet Potato Fries or the white sweet potatoes. But ya girl isn’t biased. And neither are my kids because we all devour these everyday. They are lightly seasoned with some garlic powder and salt and pepper. Which to me is perfection and everything I want with my fries. I don’t love anything over the top or overly seasoned. Sweet potatoes taste so good on their own so it is all about the simplicity.

What you’ll need to make easy sweet potato fries:

  • Sweet potatoes (any variety works!)
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • Avocado oil + more for pan

How to make the best oven-baked sweet potato fries:

  1. Cut the sweet potatoes in half and the lengthwise
  2. In a large bowl add cut potatoes, spices and avocado oil and toss well
  3. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees and line a baking tray with parchment paper
  4. In a cast iron skillet (or large pan) turn to medium/high heat and add a generous drizzle of avocado oil
  5. Add coated potatoes on top (you may need to do two batches depending on how large the pan is)
  6. “Fry” the sweet potatoes for about 3 minutes so they get a nice crunch coating then pour onto baking sheet
  7. Bake in oven for 20 minutes (flipping half way) then broil for 2 minutes on high and enjoy!
