Easy Baked Brie with Candied Walnuts and Jam

This appetizer is incredibly delicious, simple and our go-to party appetizer. It is made with just a few ingredients, a fan favorite and takes 5 minutes of effort to make.

Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounce brie wheel
  • 1/3 cup jam (any favor works like raspberry, blueberry, apricot, etc.)
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (plus more for garnish)
  • Optional: fresh thyme or rosemary leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and place your wheel of brief on a parchment paper lined baking sheet or small baking dish
  2. Cut a criss-cross pattern about 1/2 inch deep into the brie
  3. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until brie is oozing a bit
  4. While brie bakes, toast the walnuts by cooking over medium/low heat with maple syrup
  5. Make sure to stir often and don’t over toast or the nuts will burn
  6. Remove from heat and set aside
  7. When brie is done, spoon the jam on top and spread across then add candied walnuts, drizzle with extra syrup if desired and serve with crackers or baguette

Notes

*Store leftovers in fridge for 3 days and reheat in oven. It is best served fresh

**Swap out the walnuts for pecans, pistachios, sliced almonds or another nut if preferred
