I am usually a turkey burger gal. And I know you guys love them too after seeing how many of you make my Ginger Scallion Turkey Burgers from my cookbook, Just the Good Stuff.

Burgers are so easy to make and they are my favorite to add on top of a bowl of sorts, onto a bun, anything! I also cut them up and give them to Ezra too and he absolutely loves them. We just LOVE them and most recently I am obsessed with these avocado chicken burgers. They are juicy, flavorful and ready in just 15 minutes, so what’s not to love.

I use a mix of white and dark meat chicken so it is extra flavorful. Personally I think that using ground chicken breasts only, makes the burgers a bit dry and kind of blah. The mix of them both is perfect and what I used here in this recipe today.

I paired mine with some leafy greens, sweet potato fries, avocado, veggies and I used pesto as the sauce of sorts. You can really use anything you are craving or have on hand, which is what I also love about these. They are so versatile and they also taste delicious on a english muffin bun!

Ingredients in Whole30 Chicken Avocado Burgers:

I love that these burgers only use a few ingredients and they are so simple and easy to make.

  • Ground chicken – I like a mix of light/dark meat
  • Ripe avocado, cut into chunks
  • Garlic clove – or use garlic powder instead
  • Sweet onion – or whatever onion you want
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • Avocado oil

How to cook these healthier Avocado Chicken Burgers:

  1. First mix together the ground chicken, avocado, onion, garlic and salt and pepper in a large bowl
  2. Then heat a large skillet with some avocado oil and warm on medium-high heat
  3. Form into 4 patties and then add to skillet and cook on medium heat (I covered with a lid) and cook for about 10-12 minutes, flipping 1/2 way through
  4. Remove from heat and serve on a bun or in a bowl of choice.
  5. Finally serve with anything you’d like! I served mine with crispy sweet potato fries, leafy greens, pesto, avocado and veggies!
