    Heaven at Grand Solmar’s Spa

I never was one who really appreciated or craved massages until I started working.

I hated the idea of being “touched” but someone but as soon as that first stress wave hit me and my back turned into 100 knots, I was all over the idea of getting a massage.

As you have been seeing on Instagram, I am currently at the Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort in Cabos. It is my family’s second visit here and we are obsessed.

The resort itself is just spectacular. The handful of infinity pools, sushi bar, employees, fitness center, etc. are all amazing. Everything is immaculate and the rooms are too die for. It is basically heaven for a week.

I was fortunate enough to visit the brand new spa at Land’s End during our visit for a massage and facial. It was my first facial ever, so I was really nervous but my body was craving that massage.

I didn’t even plan to do a blog post on the spa experience but it was truly too amazing not to. I mean, just look at these pictures.

It started off on a patio deck area where some of the spa attendants welcomed me. I never have been greeted so warmly before by strangers. It was like they have known me forever.

I was shown to the changing area afterwards where I had my own locker and robe (we all know I love robes) to settle in. I was offered time to take a steam but those scare me so much (I am claustrophobic).

Afterwards Hortensia, my masseuse, walked me up to my own spa villa. It overlooked the ocean and reminded me of one of those exotic tiki huts you live in when you go to Bora Bora.grandsolmarmassagegrandsolmarmassage2

I was given a cucumber gazpacho and iced tea while we did a salt scrub on my feet. From there we began the massage and holy oh my gosh, it was quite the experience. I circled on a piece of paper what areas to focus on aka every part of my body. Hortensia used bamboo tools as well as traditional massage therapies during the experience. The facial came into play during the massage, which shocked me. It was a 7 layer facial and Hortensia really paid attention to my sensitive skin and used special products she said on it.

The whole experience was about 120 minutes in total. It was the most amazing “me” time ever and made me realize how important it is to really disconnect and treat yourself from time to time.

After I was done with the massage and facial, they asked me to go back and sit on the bed overlooking the water and relax with a glass of champagne. It was so picture perfect and I haven’t felt that calm in years (seriously, years).grandsolmarmassage3

They also gifted me the most gorgeous red glass heart with my name on it. I cannot wait to hang it up in my apartment when we come home.

I hope all you babes treat yourself from time to time and really disconnect. It is so key to refuel, “retox” and rejuvenate ourselves to keep us going.

    xx, Rach

For mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary, we always try to get each other experiences. Lately, we have both been carrying a lot of stress in our backs and shoulders from long hours at work and my boyfriend golfs on the weekends. Thanks to this blog post, I know what I will be getting him (read: us) for our anniversary and will definitely include spas in our travel plans in the future. Thank you!! <3
