First, wash and dry your green grapes. It’s essential that the grapes are completely dry before you dip them in caramel; otherwise, the caramel won’t stick. You can pat them dry with a paper towel or spread them out on a clean towel and allow them to air-dry for a few minutes.
Once the grapes are dry, stick a toothpick or small skewer into each one. This will make dipping the grapes into the caramel much easier and cleaner.
Take each grape by the toothpick or skewer and dip it into the caramel sauce, making sure to coat the grape evenly. You may need to swirl the grape around to ensure the entire surface is covered.
Once the grape is dipped, allow any excess caramel to drip off before placing it onto a sheet of parchment paper. The parchment paper will prevent the caramel from sticking as it cools.
Before the caramel hardens completely, it’s time to roll your caramel apple grapes in your choice of toppings. Whether you choose crushed peanuts, sprinkles, or chocolate chips, the toppings will stick best when the caramel is still slightly warm and gooey.
To coat the grapes, simply roll them in your chosen toppings or sprinkle them over the top. Be sure to work quickly, as the caramel will firm up after just a few minutes.
Once all your grapes are coated in caramel and toppings, let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to allow the caramel to fully set. You can also pop them into the refrigerator for a few minutes to speed up the process.
After the caramel has hardened, enjoy!
