These Avocado Chicken Burgers are one of my favorite healthy recipes to make for a family meal. They’re great for lunch or dinner and they’re gluten-free and dairy-free.

  • Prep Time: 20 mins
  • Cook Time: 15 mins
  • Total Time: 35 mins

Yield: 4 burgers 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken (or you can use ground turkey)
  • 1/2 cup baby spinach, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup almond flour (acts as binder)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 large avocado or 1 small, diced
  • For serving: buns of choice, butter lettuce, pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together burger ingredients (I like to mix by hand with meat handling gloves)
  2. Form into 4 equal sized patties and add to a plate
  3. Cover and add to fridge to firm for about 20-30 minutes (you want burgers cool before cooking so they stay together)
  4. Warm large skillet over medium-high heat and grease with oil or spray
  5. Cook patties for 5 minutes then flip (cooked side should be golden/browned)
  6. Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes or until meat reaches 165 degrees F
  7. Remove from skillet and enjoy with desired bun or sides!

Notes

*Store leftovers in fridge for 5 days or freezer for 2 months
