Ingredients

Scale

Turkey burgers:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small apple, grated and squeezed dry (honeycrisp, gala, your go-to!)
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, for cooking

Maple Dijon sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayo or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Dijon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Mix turkey, grated apple, cheddar, Dijon, maple, garlic powder, sage, salt and pepper until just combined.
  2. Form into 4 patties.
  3. Add to the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes (this helps them stay together!)
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook burgers 5–6 minutes per side, until cooked through (165 degrees F).
  5. Whisk sauce ingredients together.
  6. Serve on (gluten-free) buns with sauce, extra cheddar and thinly sliced apple.
