This Braised Broccoli Rabe with Garlicky Bacon is the ultimate Whole30-friendly side dish to spice things up. It only takes 20 minutes to cook and is absolutely delicious to pair with your meal.
1 bunch of broccoli rabe, washed and trimmed 1 inch of stems off
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: parmesan cheese to garnish
Instructions
Warm a large skillet over medium/high heat and add in the bacon and garlic
Allow the bacon to crisp a bit and when the fat is released, this acts as an oil for the pan
Add in the broth and bring to a low boil then add in the broccoli rabe and stir all together, season with salt and pepper
Cover with the lid and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes until softened (if there is still too much liquid after, cook for a couple minutes without the lid on medium heat)
