Paleo Chocolate Swirl Banana Bread made with all vegan and gluten-free ingredients like almond flour, maple syrup and flax egg.

  • 2 mashed bananas (about 1 cup)
  • 1 flax egg (or sub 1 egg)
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup (honey works)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups almond flour or meal
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (code RACHL for free shipping)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a loaf pan with parchment paper and grease well
  2. Whisk together banana, egg, maple syrup and vanilla until creamy
  3. Mix in flours and baking powder until full combined
  4. Add 1/2 the batter to the loaf pan
  5. Mix in the cacao to the remaining powder and mix in the chocolate chips
  6. Add on top of batter in loaf pan and swirl with knife if desired
  7. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes or until ready
  8. Slice and enjoy!
