Super Bowl Hosting Guide: Plan the Perfect Party!

I am SO excited to share my Super Bowl hosting guide with you! Between running after three kids and trying to actually watch the game, I’ve learned a thing or two about making game day fun for everyone. Below I am sharing all my hosting must-haves that’ll make your life SO much easier and (hopefully) keep everyone happy. All of the recipes and Super Bowl EATS though can be found here for you! Think of this post as everything but the food?!

But first – here are my two secrets! Number one, make sure you have a TON of activities for the kids so you don’t get the dreaded ‘mom, i’m bored!!’. Number two, there are items that are going to make your life 10X easier. They make cooking and cleaning a piece of cake (so you can actually enjoy a piece of that super bowl cake you made).

Ok so let me tell you – keeping the little ones busy during the big game is a GAME CHANGER! I’m obsessed with these activities that let the adults actually watch some football while the kids have their own fun. I mean who doesn’t want to see all the commercials during the Superbowl. Big Game Commercial Bingo or the Big Game Party Cards are such a hit – even the younger ones get excited about marking their cards when they spot all the different commercials. It’s a great way to keep them engaged and busy! And these Football Activity Books?! Talk about a mom win! They’re packed with puzzles, mazes, coloring and games that keep them entertained for hours.

Pin the Football might sound old school, but trust me when I say it will be a game that both kids and adults love to play! And for the kids that love to color, don’t even get me started on the Color Your Own Football sheets. They’re such a simple idea but SO FUN! Once they are done coloring, they have a new toy to keep them entertained all night and a souvenir to take home.

Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of what makes game day actually enjoyable for us hosts! First things first – if you don’t have a Crockpot for your party, what are you even doing?! It’s literally been my saving grace for keeping all our favorite game day foods warm and ready to go. No more running back and forth to the kitchen!! There are so many different sizes and options from all the bells and whistles (including a sous vide function!) to a 2 quart one. It is perfect for dips.

For my fellow hosts who actually want to enjoy the game (and not spend the whole time doing dishes!), these disposable serving items are EVERYTHING! I’m talking the cutest bamboo silverware that doesn’t feel cheap (and isn’t plastic). Disposable tablecloths that make cleanup a breeze. You can even get ones that double as a coloring surface for the kids!). Sturdy paper plates that won’t collapse under all those wings. Oh and bamboo skewers for the most Instagram-worthy appetizer spread!

Sheet pans, yes MULTIPLE, are non-negotiable!! I use them for everything from warming up apps to baking wings, and they’re perfect for organizing your pregame prep. And these chip and dip bowls I found?! OBSESSED! They keep everything looking so put together, even when we’re all diving in for that seventh handful of chips!

P.S. Two items that might seem basic but are total game-changers: parchment paper (trust me, your future self will thank you during cleanup!). And a meat masher – if you’re making any kind of ground meat for tacos or dips, this little tool is life-changing!! And for that extra touch of festive fun, these football cupcake toppers make even store-bought treats look Pinterest-worthy!
