Let’s walk through the recipe and discover how simple it is to create this mouth-watering dip.

Ingredients for Brownie Batter Dip:

Here’s what you’ll need to whip up this crowd-pleaser:

  • Box of brownie mix – I used a gluten-free brownie mix, but feel free to use your favorite brand. You can go with a regular mix if gluten-free isn’t a concern, or even try a healthier alternative if that’s your style.
  • Plain cream cheese – Make sure it’s softened at room temperature so it blends smoothly. Cream cheese gives this dip a rich and tangy base that balances the sweetness of the brownie mix.
  • Whipped topping – I used coconut whip for a dairy-free option, but you can use any whipped topping of your choice. This ingredient adds lightness to the dip and creates that fluffy texture we all love.
  • Milk of choice – Use any milk of your choice to help smooth the dip out. Almond, oat, soy, or cow’s milk will all work just fine!
  • Fresh fruit, cookies, graham crackers – You’ll want to have fresh fruit, cookies, or graham crackers on hand. Strawberries, apple slices, vanilla wafers, and graham crackers are all fantastic choices!
  • Mini chocolate chips or chunks – If you want an extra layer of chocolate goodness, fold in mini chocolate chips or chunks into the dip for added texture and flavor.

How to Make Brownie Batter Dip:

This recipe couldn’t be easier! Follow these simple steps and you’ll have your dip ready in no time.

Step 1: Prepare the Cream Cheese

Start by making sure your cream cheese is softened at room temperature. If you forget to take it out of the fridge ahead of time, don’t worry! You can microwave it for about 10-15 seconds to soften it up. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy. This step helps prevent lumps in your dip.

Step 2: Incorporate the Whipped Topping

Gently fold in the whipped topping (whether you’re using coconut whip or a regular version). This step helps give the dip its light and fluffy texture. Be careful not to overmix, as you want to preserve the airiness of the whipped topping.

Step 3: Adjust the Consistency

Add 2 tablespoons of milk to the mixture to help smooth out the dip. You can adjust the amount of milk depending on your desired consistency. If you prefer a thicker dip, start with 1 tablespoon, and if you want it thinner, add a little more.

Step 4: Add the Brownie Mix

Next, add the brownie mix to microwave-safe bowl and heat it for 60 seconds. Then add the brownie mix to the other ingredients and mix well.

Step 5: Optional – Fold in Chocolate Chips

For those who love a little extra chocolate (who doesn’t?), fold in ½ cup of mini chocolate chips or chunks. This adds a delightful crunch to the creamy dip and intensifies the chocolate flavor.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle some additional chocolate chips on top if you want to make it look extra pretty. Serve it alongside fresh fruit like strawberries, apple slices, or cookies and graham crackers for dipping.

Tips and Variations:

Want to put your own spin on this delicious brownie batter dip? Here are some ideas for customization and serving:

  1. Mix in peanut butter: Add a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter or a nut-free butter alternative to the dip for a chocolate-peanut butter flavor combination.
  2. Top with sprinkles: For a festive touch, add sprinkles to the dip to make it fun for birthday parties or celebrations.
  3. Make it dairy-free: If you’re looking for a dairy-free option, use dairy-free cream cheese and whipped topping. The coconut whip version is fantastic and adds a subtle coconut flavor.
  4. Add marshmallow fluff: If you want an even lighter and fluffier dip, try folding in some marshmallow fluff. It adds an extra sweetness that kids (and adults) will love!
  5. Serve with a variety of dippers: Don’t limit yourself to just cookies and fruit. Try serving the dip with pretzels for a salty-sweet combo, or even pieces of pound cake or waffles for a fun twist.

Perfect Pairings: What to Serve with Brownie Batter Dip:

The beauty of this brownie batter dip is that it pairs wonderfully with so many dippable options! Here are a few of my favorite pairings..

  • Fresh fruit: Strawberries, raspberries, apple slices, and bananas are perfect for dipping. The freshness of the fruit balances the richness of the chocolate dip.
  • Graham crackers: Their sweet, crunchy texture is a great complement to the creamy dip.
  • Vanilla wafers: These soft, sweet cookies are a classic dipper for a reason. They melt in your mouth with every bite!
  • Cookies: From chocolate chip cookies to shortbread, cookies are a must-have alongside this dip. Try a variety to please your guests.
  • Pretzels: For a salty-sweet combination, pretzels add a nice crunch and balance out the richness of the brownie dip.

If you have any leftovers (which I doubt you will!), you can store this brownie batter dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When you’re ready to serve it again, give it a quick stir to smooth out any separation that may have occurred in the fridge.
