This Tangerine Sorbet is made with just 1 ingredient and it is incredibly easy to whip up in your food processor and enjoy as a healthy snack.

My kids are obsessed with anything in the citrus orange fruit family. We always have them on hand for school lunches, snacks and oddly enough they love peeling them too. Which is my least favorite part of eating them!

But when we don’t snack on tangerines straight up, we love making this sorbet. Or as my kids call it “orange ice cream”. It is incredibly easy to make and you just need 1 key ingredient to make it – seedless tangerines! That is it.

You can add any toppings and such you want to this too to make it more fun and sundae like. And if you want to sweeten it more when blending together, add some maple syrup, honey or coconut sugar to the food processor. It is totally up to you on if you want it more sweet or tangy.

I cannot wait to hear what you think of this recipe! After seeing it on Instagram, I knew I had to try it too. And we are hooked!

The only ingredient you need to make tangerine sorbet:

  • Tangerines! Shocker, I know. But it’s really that simple. Just make sure they are seedless as well so you don’t end up with seeds in your sorbet
  • Optional: you can use some maple syrup, honey or coconut sugar to sweeten it a bit too and of course toppings like dark chocolate or coconut flakes

How to make tangerine sorbet in your food processor:

  • Add tangerine segments to a small baking sheet and add to freezer to set for at least for at least a few hours but preferably overnight
  • Remove segments from freezer and add to food processor
  • Begin to pulse for a few minutes to break up and blend. The texture will be dry at first but keep blending and it will continue to get creamier as you blend and scrape down the sides
  • Once cream scoop out into bowl of choice to serve and add any toppings if desired! I love having dark chocolate or coconut flakes on top

FAQs on making tangerine sorbet:

  • I recommend using a food processor here over a blender. If you do need to use a blender then you will likely need to add some liquid as well such as full-fat coconut milk to make it creamy.
  • I prefer eating this fresh after you make the sorbet, but it does stay good in the freezer for a month or so. Just let it thaw out before eating because it gets very firm and hard when it is in the freezer.
  • Kids absolutely love this too! My kids eat this for dessert and love adding some chocolate or coconut flakes on top, sprinkles anything!
