Let's make gluten-free Pizza Rolls using pizza dough! These are such a delicious recipe to make for lunch or dinner and I use a gluten-free pizza dough.

These pizza rolls are seriously such a delicious lunch or dinner option. And you can customize the filling to please you and your kids! Fill them up with your go-to sauce, cheese, veggies and any proteins you want. Enjoy with a little side of marinara sauce for dipping and you and your family will be in heaven.

We are using gluten-free pizza doughty make them but you can use any pizza dough you want (gluten-free or not!). My husband has celiac so we try to keep things gluten-free for everyone in the house when we can.

These pizza rolls are such a fun take on pizza – and you can even pack the leftovers for lunch too for school. They are the cutest little bites and we store them in the fridge for up to 5 days. Plus you can also freeze the leftovers too.

Tip: add some veggies to the pizza rolls! I love adding spinach, broccoli, carrots and zucchini. I grate or chop the vegetables thin then add into the sauce and cheese mixture.

What ingredients you need to make pizza rolls:

  • Package pizza dough of choice – you can use your go-to mix!
  • Marinara sauce – any pasta-type sauce here works well
  • Chopped veggies – I use spinach and broccoli most often
  • Chopped protein of choice – like meatballs, sausage or chicken
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – sub a vegan or non-dairy cheese if you prefer

How to make your own pizza rolls at home:

  1. Prepare pizza dough per instructions on the package
  2. Flour a cleaned surface on counter and add the dough on top
  3. Sprinkle flour on top and roll out dough so it is 1-inch thick (or press down to form a large rectangle)
  4. Cut the rectangle into 16 smaller rectangles
  5. Add about 1 teaspoon of the cheese/sauce mixture to 1/2 of each small rectangle then fold up the other half to form the roll up
  6. Repeat for remaining dough and toppings
  7. Add to a greased baking sheet and cook in air fryer at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until warm and dough is fully cooked
  8. Serve while warm with marinara sauce if desired!

Best tips to make these:

  • Make sure to follow the instructions on the pizza dough bag when preparing these and rolling out the dough. Each time I make these, I tend to test a different dough and I always prepare as if I am preparing to make flatbread or pizza itself
  • To make ahead or to store: make the recipe and let them cool completely. Then add to airtight container and store in fridge for 5 days. Or add to freezer-friendly bag and freeze for up to 2 months
  • To reheat these pizza rolls, I usually warm in the oven for about 5-8 minutes or microwave for 30-60 seconds (typically I microwave for my kids because they don’t have patience for oven!
  • You can use any toppings you’d like like cooked proteins and veggies with the sauce and cheese. You mix it all together to make a filling
