Sharing our easy 10-minute Wonton Soup! Using the cilantro chicken wontons from Trader Joe’s – this soup comes together so quick and easy!
SOUP WEEK DAY 2 BABY! Have you been the Trader Joe’s Copycat Pumpkin Bisque yet?!
I love Trader Joe’s so much. I wish they’d acknowledge my presence and work together because HOT DAMN we can make some magic happen!! (we share all the faves here).
I spend basically every morning in there stocking up on various ingredients and getting inspired. And I bought every single ingredient for this soup recipe there. And it’s the only reason why we are able to make this soup in 10 minutes. Because they have the best frozen chicken wontons. They’re cilantro and chicken and just so good. Plus the ingredients are not too bad at all. I expected them to be overly processed and blah – but so not the case. They do have a little soy which annoys me, but for this – I will eat it and deal with a stomachache after.
This is soup #2 of #rachLsoupweek so don’t forget to check back tomorrow for even more soup ideas!!
What ingredients are in this easy wonton soup:
- Chicken broth (or use veggie or beef)
- Peeled ginger, about 1/4 inch thick
- Garlic cloves, minced
- Scallions, cut into 2 inch pieces or so (the white part)
- Coconut aminos
- Sesame oil
- Wontons! (we used the Trader Joe’s Cilantro Chicken ones)
How to make this soup in 10 minutes:
- In a large pot, combine the broth, ginger, garlic and scallions, coconut aminos and oil and bring to a boil
- Add in wontons then cook over medium/low heat or until wontons are fully cooked. It took us about 8 minutes or so!

Excited to try this. Can you explain the ginger a bit more? Two full pieces or should they be cut/minced/etc. If not, do you take the out before serving? I love your recipes!
