These Cheeseburger Sweet Potato Bowls are loaded with flavor and incredibly easy to make. They’re gluten-free, can be made plant-based (yes, really) and they are one of our go-to recipes for dinner right now.

I am obsessed with these burger bowls right now!!!! Oh my gosh you guys. These are a must try. They are loaded with flavor, easy too. make and they are a great healthy meal to make for any night of the week.

If you love burgers, you must try this bowl. Juicy beef (or mock meat), yummy special sauce and all the toppings you want. It is also gluten-free, grain-free and you know I don’t speak low-carb but it’s pretty low carb too.

My husband and my kids loved this recipe too. It’s a healthier take on a burger and a great way to switch things up from the usual burger and bun. Does it replace a burger with a bun? Nope. But it does taste so delicious and is a great way to switch things ups. bit. These bowls are also packed with protein and I give options for all different kinds of meat or even mock meat too. Yes – I made these with vegan meat and they are amazing.

You can really use any toppings you may have on hand to make them too. I personally love the shredded lettuce, special sauce, pickles and if I have avocado, I add it. I had ran out the day I made this to photograph (oops). Don’t skip the sesame seeds either. They are so good for that bun-like vibe if you are usually a sesame seed bun kind of eater.

I can’t wait to hear what you think of these burger bowls. Let me know if you try them!

What ingredients you need to make these cheeseburger sweet potato bowls:

  • Sweet potatoes – I use large yams for this, the orange sweet potatoes. Or you can really use any sweet potatoes you’d like
  • Olive oil or avocado oil – either oil is an option for this recipe
  • Ground beef or plant-based meat (beyond is great for this)
  • Seasonings – I usually do garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt and black pepper
  • Shredded cheddar cheese or dairy-free cheese – I have used both and they both work well. Totally personal preference!
  • Shredded lettuce – you can use any shredded lettuce you want. I typically use romaine lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes – I typically use cherry tomatoes, but use your go-to tomato option
  • Diced pickles – any pickles you want!
  • Special sauce – or make your own!
  • Sesame seeds – I love adding these on top for a little crunch like the sesame seed bun

How to make cheeseburger bowls:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees

  3. Next add to large baking sheet and cook for about 30 to 40 minutes or until  softened. I usually mix the potatoes a bit during cooking
  4. Next warm a large skillet with oil and add the beef or plant-based beef. Season with seasonings above and mix all together
  5. Then cook for about 6 to 8 minutes, mixing every couple of months or so (I use this meat masher)
