These Frozen Yogurt Oatmeal Bars are one of our family’s favorite snacks to make. Plus they’re gluten-free, nut free-friendly, great to kids and you can use any yogurt you’d like on top!
These bars are truly SO good and delicious and versatile! They are a healthy and easy snack to make and one that you and your kids will both eat. These are loaded with nutrients ingredients, little sugar besides dates and they are a healthy and satisfying snack for anyone to eat.
I also love that you can make these allergen-friendly. Use sunflower seed butter, vegan yogurt if needed and I use gluten-free oats too.
And the flavor here is so so good. One you will crave to eat from the freezer and you only have to let them thaw out for about 3-5 minutes before eating (or just eat frozen!).
My kids crave these bars and they are ones that we keep in the freezer at *all* times for an easy snack that’s loaded with protein and healthy fats and one that satisfies them and fuels them between meals. My toddler especially loves these and when we make them with peanut butter, they are even more popular with my kids (they live for anything peanut butter) and the nut butter keeps them satiated too.
What ingredients you need to make these gluten-free yogurt oatmeal bars:
-
Medjool dates – I love getting the softened and pitted dates from Trader Joe’s for these
-
Gluten-free rolled oats – if not gluten-free, use any rolled oats but I usually do gluten-free as my husband can’t eat gluten
-
Creamy nut butter or seed butter – peanut, almond, sunflower anything creamy and preferably room temp (not from the fridge)
-
Ground flaxseeds – I love adding these in for extra nutrients into the bars
-
Cinnamon – the spice I basically add to everything and anything
-
Yogurt of choice – can be dairy or non-dairy yogurt. Anything you are craving or have on hand
-
Frozen berries – blueberries, raspberries, any berries. I prefer frozen for these because it makes more of a jam
- Chia seeds – I add these into the berries to make a jam of sorts
How to make these frozen yogurt oatmeal bars:
- In a food processor, blend the dates until broken into small pieces/makes a paste of sorts
- Add in the oats, nut butter, ground flaxseed, and cinnamon and blend again until well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed
- Transfer the mix to an 8×8 parchment-lined baking dish and press firmly into the base of the dish
- Spread yogurt across the top of the oatmeal bars
- Microwave berries for 1 minute then stir and warm again for another minute
- Mix in chia seeds to make the “jam”
- Spread berry jam across the yogurt top then place into the freezer and let freeze for 1 – 2 hours, or until the bars are solid enough to cut
- Cut into squares or bars of the desired size and enjoy
Tips for success:
- I store these in the freezer! They stay good for two months and you just let them thaw out for 3-5 minutes before eating
- These yogurt bars are great because you can easily switch things up to use what you have for this. Any yogurt works (dairy or dairy-free)
- You can also use any berries like blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or blackberries for them!
- These bars are great for kids and toddlers! They are sweetened with dates, not honey and that’s the only form of sugar in them
- Use room temperature nut butter so it’s easy to press down into the baking dish and mix everything together. If the batter is sticking to your hands, wet your fingers or use a piece of parchment paper to press down the batter

Must they be medjool dates? I cannot eat them on my fodmap diet (1 date per meal) but any other date I can have in bigger quantities, 5 per meal. Thank you!
Rachel
any soft dates with no pits should work!! x

My family loves these! They are a perfect snack or sweet treat. The jammy blueberry topping is delicious and the oatmeal/date crust tastes like a cookie. We finished these in a week. Highly recommend!
