If you are looking for something delicious to make for Passover, you’ll love this homemade matzo bark. It has a peanut butter and jelly twist to it with a delicious chocolate topping. And it is incredibly hard to resist.
I like to think of this as the Jewish version of “Christmas Crack”. That wildly popular recipe during the holiday season. Or crack candy if you know it by that name. Traditionally it is is made with toffee, saltines, chocolate and nuts. But I love making this version for another sweet and salty spin.
And the best part? This is *so* easy to make. You just need your oven and a baking sheet and the ingredients to do it!
Matzo bark is a staple dessert during Passover (and any time of the year for us!). I cannot wait to hear what you think of it too.
What in ingredients you need to make PB&J Matzo Bark:
- Matzo – I used gluten-free but any works!
- Creamy or crunchy peanut butter
- Jam or jelly of choice – make your own or use a store-bought, anything works!
- Dark chocolate chips – or you can use milk chocolate if you prefer
How to make Matzo Bark:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil
- Cover sheet with matzo, cutting and piecing them together as necessary to fill the pan
- Spread the peanut butter on top across the sheets of matzo followed by the jelly
- Add to oven to bake for 10 minutes then remove and sprinkle chocolate chips across
- Add back to oven to warm for 2-3 minutes then remove from heat and spread chocolate across so it coats the peanut butter/jelly layer
- Next add the baking sheet to fridge to set for at least 30 minutes
- Remove from fridge, break into pieces and enjoy!

- Do you have to do the peanut butter and jelly combo? Not at all! I personally love the PB&J with chocolate combo but you can do anything you are craving.
- What are some other matzo bark variations? peppermint matzo bark with crushed peppermint candy canes on top of chocolate, white chocolate cranberry with white chocolate chips and raisins, toffee and chocolate – anything you want!
- How long does matzo bark stay good for? About 5 days on the counter or 7 days in fridge. I also love to freeze this for up to 2 months
