This Frozen Cherry Lime Lemonade is a must make recipe. It come together in 5 minutes and is a great mocktail or you can serve it as a cocktail of sorts too. Plus these have no added sugar and kids love them too.

Okay so I am on a roll here making all kinds of frozen drinks. They are not your traditional frozen drinks of sorts, but ones made a bit healthier and with a lot less sugar. Fruit is sweet enough in my opinion so when it comes to drinks like these, I really try to keep the sugar content down. Sometimes I add some maple syrup or honey depending on the drink (kind of like this one we are making today). But typically my kids actually like this drink more tart and sour!

Anyways – hello! Today we are making my frozen cherry lime lemonade. Which is my take on a cherry limeade. Typically cherry limeade is a drink made from limeade mixed with juice from a can of maraschino cherries and a lemon-lime soda. I like this version though since it’s made with frozen cherries, seltzer and fresh lime and lemon juice. It’s a bit lighter than the traditional version.

This drink has more of a tarty flavor from the lime and lemons. The cherries are the only source sugar/sweetness too. I love how this drink has just 5 basic ingredients that you can find at pretty much any grocery store. And it takes just 5 minutes to whip up.

I have been making this when we have friends over and my kids are obsessed. It’s also the kind of recipe that is great for kids or adults since you can serve it as a cocktail OR mocktail depending on what kind of mood you’re in. Or who you are making it for.

I cannot wait to hear what you guys think of this –  keep me posted if you try it!

  • Frozen cherries – I find these in the frozen fruit section. I prefer frozen so they have no pits and it has a better texture/consistency than fresh cherries in this recipe
  • Fresh lime juice – from limes or use bottled lime juice
  • Fresh lemon juice – from lemon or use bottled lemon juice
  • Ice cubes – you can use crushed up ice c
  • Seltzer – or use lime seltzer but I use plain seltzer usually
  • Optional: maple syrup or honey to sweeten
  • For serving: fresh limes, cherries and popsicles if you want!

How to make this frozen cherry lime lemonade:

  1. Add frozen cherries, lime juice, ice cubes and seltzer into a blender and blend together until smooth
  2. Serve in desired cups with garnishes and enjoy cool!

FAQs and tips on making this cherry lime lemonade:

  • Can I use fresh cherries? No, please use frozen pitted cherries. They shouldn’t be thawed either or they will impact the consistency of the slushy.
  • Can I use bottled lime juice? Yes – it can be more sour from my experience than juice from fresh limes. So you may want to sweeten it a bit.
  • What about sugar, is this sweet? This is more tarty and sour than sweet, which is what I was going for. You can 100% add some maple syrup or honey though if you want to sweeten this up though.
  • I don’t recommend preparing this ahead of time. For optimal texture, blend together right before serving.
  • If you do have leftovers, store them in a freezer-safe container and freeze. Or you can store in fridge but know it will become more of a traditional drink than frozen slushy.
