This homemade Buncha Crunch recipe is the best crunchy chocolatey snack like the store-bought Buncha Crunch Nestle makes. But this version is made with better ingredients and you only need 2 ingredients to make it!

Who here loves Buncha Crunch?! It is a sweet and crunchy snack that really is a staple at most movie theaters. It is the ultimate chocolatey snack and if you love Crunch bars, you likely love Buncha Crunch as well.

This iswildly easy to make at home and the ingredients are much better in the homemade version. You can make a big batch and keep it on hand for snacking whenever. It also tastes delicious with your favorite popcorn a sweet and salty mix of sorts.

My kids love this recipe too and we go through batches *fast* over here. I recommend doubling the recipe if you are making it for a larger group. Plus it stays good for awhile and it’s a great candy to keep in the freezer or fridge for when the craving strikes.

I cannot wait to hear what you think of this and for you to try it!

What 2 ingredients you need to make Buncha Crunch at home:

  • Dark chocolate chips – you can also use milk chocolate if you prefer. I like dark chocolate for this and also mixing milk and dark chocolate together both works too
  • Brown rice crisp cereal – or use regular rice krispie cereal. I do prefer the less sugar option!

How to make copycat Buncha Crunch:

  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate so it is *almost* melted with some chunks still
  2. Place the cereal in the bowl and stir together
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper then using a teaspoon or tablespoon, scoop out desired sized quantity to make the “buncha crunch” pieces and add to baking sheet
  4. Add to fridge to set for about an hour then enjoy!

FAQs on making your own Buncha Crunch:

  • What is Buncha Crunch? Buncha Crunch Candy features crisp rice that has been dipped in creamy milk chocolate, resembling a smaller version of the CRUNCH Bar.
  • What other kitchen tools will I need? A microwave to melt chocolate, fridge, baking sheet, microwave safe bowl, spoon, parchment paper and that’s it!
  • Why do you say to not fully melt the chocolate? I find it easier to get the clusters to form if you do it this way. You want it to be “almost” melted with some chunks. If it does fully melt, it’s not the end of the world – you can still make this!
  • Why is this Buncha Crunch better than store-bought? When it comes to most conventional candies, the ingredients are less than ideal. You only need chocolate and rice crisp cereal to make this version. While the store-bought has: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Nonfat Milk, Milkfat, Lactose, Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavor), Crisped Rice (Rice Flour, Sugar, Salt, Barley Malt Extract), Tapioca Dextrin, Confectioner’s Glaze (Lac-Resin).
