Healthy Chicken Teriyaki made with all gluten-free and paleo-friendly ingredients and ready in under 20 minutes.
Jord is going to be skipping for joy when this is live guys because we made it back in NOVEMBER! Yes – we are crazy over here and make content that far in advance. But with the move and not having a kitchen and then going away to Florida for a few weeks, we had to get our ducks in a row fam!!
But regardless – this beauty is LIVE and ready to be devoured by everyone. And if you love chicken teriyaki and want a healthier version – I gotchu covered baby.
This recipe is paleo-friendly if you cut out the rice and it is SO easy to make. You need less than 20 minutes and you’ll be devouring your healthy and tasty dinner in no time. Plus this is one of those meals that tastes so good cold out of the fridge in my opinion. I am crazy – I know but I love leftovers cold lol!

What is in this paleo-friendly teriyaki chicken:
- Coconut aminos
- Coconut sugar
- Fresh ginger, minced
- Garlic cloves, minced
- Maple syrup or honey
- Sesame oil
- Water
- Tapioca flour or arrowroot flour
- Chicken breast, cut into smaller strips or pieces
- Basmati rice (sub cauliflower rice if paleo)
- Steamed broccoli
- Scallions and sesame seeds to garnish
How to make chicken teriyaki and broccoli bowls:
- Add the teriyaki sauce ingredients to a sauce pan and mix together over medium heat
- Stir and let the sauce thicken for 4 minutes over low heat
- Warm a large skillet with a little avocado oil and add about 2 tablespoons of the sauce and coat the pan
- Add the chicken and cook on medium heat for about 3-5 minutes on each side
- Add the broccoli to the pan and pour the rest of the sauce on top
- Serve with rice, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions and enjoy while warm! (Or cold if you are crazy like me lol!)

Ingredients
Chicken teriyaki sauce:
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced

- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 teaspoons tapioca flour or arrowroot flour
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into smaller strips or pieces

Notes
*Store leftovers in fridge for 5 days and reheat in microwave, on skillet eat cold if you like!
