This healthy chocolate pudding recipe is not to be missed. Takes 5 minutes to make and is gluten-free, vegan and so delicious.

I think you guys are going to freak out when you see how easy it is to make your own chocolate pudding. I find the ones at the store filled with additives and I don’t like buying them. They have so much sugar, ingredients I don’t find necessary and really no nutritional value to them.

This chocolate pudding though is so good! it is made with just 5 ingredients. And it happens to be vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free.

I went through a pudding phase as a kid and if only I knew you can make one at home that is so simple. I would have tried this earlier. But I had ripe bananas and avocados and thought to myself, “hey let’s try making something different today”. So I added them to the food processor with a few ingredients and had myself the most delicious pudding.

This recipe is so good. The pudding is creamy, chocolatey, not overly sweet and is very filling to have for a sweet snack of sorts. You can also add some toppings if you want too.

Tip: let the pudding set in the fridge for a couple of hours before eating so it raelly thickens a bit.

What ingredients you need to make this healthy chocolate pudding:

  • Bananas – the more ripe the banana, the sweeter the pudding will be
  • Avocado – ripe avocado is the best for this because it will be creamier
  • Creamy peanut butter – if you can’t eat peanuts or don’t have peanut butter, try almond butter
  • Cacao powder – I haven’t tried cocoa powder in this recipe
  • Maple syrup – I add this in to sweeten the pudding a bit but it is optional if you want to keep this lower in sugar too

How to make the easiest chocolate pudding:

  1. Add ingredients to food processor and blend until smooth, making sure to scrape down sides so it all blends together between pulses
  2. Add to desired bowl and serve or add to fridge until ready to eat (it will thicken over time!)

FAQs and tips on making this healthy pudding recipe:

  • How long does this pudding stay good for? 5 days in the fridge! I don’t recommend freezing this though.
  • I don’t eat peanut butter. What else can I use? Try using almond butter or cashew butter or even tahini if you want!
  • How do you serve this? I love adding some chocolate chips on top or coconut flakes. You can serve it with anything you’d like.
  • My pudding is too sweet, what can I do? Mix in more maple syrup if you want it sweeter.
