If there is one thing that Jord’s Whole30 taught me, it is that snacks are damn HARD on that thing. I know, I know, you aren’t technically supposed to snack much on Whole30, but that wasn’t the case for him. Eating only 3x a day doesn’t work for everyone, especially Jord who really does get hungry in between meals. I always have snacks in my pockets or bags for us when we are walking around or running errands.

Typically it’s some sort of clean protein bar or something easy. But not many of the bars are Whole30-friendly or approved so that made life a bit challenging. Many have honey or some sort of added sweetener to them. Continue Reading

It is crazy to think how far balls have come. It is also crazy to think that when I tell people I like to snack on balls, the inner 8 year old in me doesn’t giggle or think perverted thoughts anymore. Don’t worry, I used to laugh every single time I would talk about them..

Bliss balls, fat balls, snack balls, you name it.. have become quite popular over the past few years. I have been making these to snack on since before my food blog or Instagram existed. It is so crazy to think how far they’ve come. I would use ingredients like oatmeal, peanut butter, honey and any other random things in my parent’s pantry. Mix them all up in a large bowl and roll them into ball form and I was snacking.

Fast forward five years and balls are trendy af. They likely fill up your Instagram feed and you may even see them at a coffeeshop or food store near you.

The best part about making snack balls though is how easy they are. It is such a simple process, I promise you can whip these up. You don’t need an oven or anything besides a food processor and whatever ingredients you are craving. I always joke to anyone who asks me for my recipe that I throw in anything I am craving into the food processor and hope for the best.

Then I took a bite of these Triple Nut Pistachio Cacao Snack Balls and knew I had write down the ingredients and measurements. These are by far my favorite snack balls yet. They are made with three types of nuts, some nut butter, coconut oil, dates and a couple other goods.  Continue Reading

    Fatty Coconut Snack Bites (vegan-friendly + gluten-free)

Fatty Coconut Snack Bites made with no added sugar and popcorn for an extra crunch factor!Fatty Coconut Snack Bites made with no added sugar and popcorn for an extra crunch factor!

You are likely seeing a million types of balls and bites and fatty snacks on instagram every single day. These easy homemade snacks are taking over and that is for a reason you guys, they are dayum GOOD.

I have been making bliss balls of sorts since before I started blogging. I used to add oatmeal, peanut butter, chia seeds and whatever else I had on hand into a bowl and form into little oatmeal balls. Having little snack bites/balls on hand gives us easy, fast, REAL food. I love these Fatty Coconut Snack Bites because they are made with all healthy ingredients (shocker) and they have no added sugar to them.

I use ingredients like raw cashews, coconut butter, plant-based protein and ghee to make these extra rich and creamy. I also use a bit of a random ingredient in them for an extra crunch and salty flavor, POPCORN! So random you guys but go with me on this, it is so good! It adds that crunch factor to the bites and I love how it is a like a trail mix salty & sweet snack. This recipe stays best in the fridge but you can definitely put a few in your bag and they’ll be ok for a few hours out of fridge 🙂

Let’s get to it! Continue Reading

35+ Easy Whole30 Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch + Dinner

The Best Crispy Avocado Oil Chicken Tenders (paleo)

Sharing a handful of my favorite Whole30-approved recipes with you!

Okay okay, I have never done Whole30. I’m by no means an expert on the 30 day challenge, but last year Jord completed his first Whole30 (see more here). I also did a couple of elimination diets (more on that here) so when it comes to having to follow some sort of strict and regimented, I have been there. It is definitely no joke and everyone who says doing a Whole30 is easy, definitely has one thing in common, they are prepared!

I have found that these elimination diets and resets can be very beneficial for some to help figure out any triggering foods that make you feel off. They are also a great way to hit the reset button and fuel your body with whole and delicious foods. My only hesitation on doing elimination diets, is that they can be triggering for some when it comes to developing phobias of foods or becoming fearful of grains, dairy, etc. Sure you may feel better omitting maple syrup or rice, but a life without sushi or cookies or pancakes is not one I’m trying to live. I ask that anyone who embarks on any cleanse or anything this year to keep that in mind and try to stay away from any extremes.

Now for the FOOD! I am going to be sharing a few more Whole30 recipes this month but wanted to put together a list for you guys early in the month. Just in case you are doing Whole30 starting on January 1, I have you covered. Please also note that Jord didn’t follow any of the rules like no chia pudding or pancakes. We just focused on the foods to eat/not to eat ad eating all whole foods!

My Favorite Time of the Year – B3 All In

Happy Holidays, friends! I hope you all had an amazing week filled with all the cookies, brownies and family & friend time we all need. I personally had an amazing week with J, my family and some friends. I attempted to “take off” for 5 days and not check email. That sadly lasted about 36 hours but better than nothing, right?

I did delete email from my phone for those 36 hours though, which I actually enjoyed. It gave me a new perspective on checking email, and how much I look at that flipping app on my phone. Basically every 5 minutes when I am walking around the city or just hanging out, etc. I definitely want to go into next year with a better balancing act for my email. I love the idea of having specific hours of the day to “check in” instead of every couple of minutes.

After leaving email for the day and a half, I came back to over 200 messages, which really just overwhelmed me even more. I learned that going cold turkey, isn’t the answer. It is all about finding that balancing act. Continue Reading

No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies Bars

Vegan, Gluten, & Grain Free No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownie Bars made with 8 ingredientsVegan, Gluten, & Grain Free No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownie Bars made with 8 ingredients

THESE! Oh my gosh. I feel like if I had to describe myself in a dessert this would probably be it.

Yup, here I am, Mrs. No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies Bars.

They are half raw cookie, half raw brownie and together we have what may be the best dessert creation in existence, a BROOKIE.

These No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies Bars are chocolatey, sweet, rich but not too heavy and ready in just minutes. Similar to these 3-ingredient Raw Pecan Brownies and Grain Free Chocolate Cookie Dough Bliss Balls, no oven is required (obviously, no-bake is in the name). But you will absolutely need a food processor. Continue Reading
