Easy Homemade Lobster Rolls Baby! Sharing our recipe when we make lobster rolls at home using frozen lobster tail.

HECK YES baby! The homemade lobster rolls are finally here. And I am pretty sure J and I may turn into a lobster roll at this point.

We have eaten the most lobster rolls imaginable in the last month. And if you guys missed are Hamptons guide to lobster rolls, definitely check that out! You will get a preview on what we are talking about ha!

But now we are making homemade lobster rolls, and to be honest – they are 100x easier to make than I would have thought. We ordered some frozen lobster tails and cooked them up after they defrosted. And it took a whole 15 minutes to make this magic happen, which is the best part. I like my mix-in’s really simple here. So we just did celery, chive and mayo. On top of a butter brioche hot dog bun because what is better than butter + bread. You can also use a gluten-free bun if you prefer or even put it on a salad.

This is definitely one of those recipes that taste best day of, but if you have leftovers – store in the fridge for a couple days or so.

Keep us posted if you guys make these! We cannot wait to hear what you think.

What ingredients you need to make the best homemade lobster rolls:

  • Lobster tails
  • Lemon
  • Mayo of choice (amount will vary based off preference)
  • Chives, chopped
  • Celery, chopped
  • Buns of choice (or serve over salad)

How to make lobster rolls at home:

  1. Fill up a space pan or a pot with a steam basket and fill up water below the steam basket and bring to a boil
  2. Add the lobster tails on to the steamer once boiling and squeeze 1/2 lemon on top of them, close the pan or pot with lid and lower heat and continue to cook for 8 minutes
  3. While lobster cooks, fill a large bowl with water and add ice cubes
  4. Add the cooked lobster to the water bath so it cools quickly once cooked
  5. Once the lobster is cool, remove from bowl and begin to take the lobster meat out. I do this by cracking the shell and scooping out the meat with my hands.
  6. Add the lobster meat to a bowl and add in the mayo, chives and celery and mix well
  7. Serve on your favorite bun or salad. We also toasted the bun in some butter before hand.
