This warm and crispy Toasted Ravioli is made with just a few simple ingredients, served with marinara sauce and baked in the oven for a delicious appetizer or meal.

We are a big ravioli fan over here. My husband is obsessed and ever since being diagnosed with celiac, he doesn’t get to have it too often.

When we were in Trader Joe’s the other day, we saw they had a gluten-free ravioli so we decided to try it (it is in their refrigerator section) and it was great. Ingredients aren’t perfect but they tasted great.

Then I recently got them again but I wanted to switch things up a bit. And sometimes you crave a crunch. And this recipe is what to make when you want to switch things up and you’re craving something different.

These crispy toasted raviolis are a MUST try and a recipe my boys devour every single time. They are great as an appetizer, for game day and a family favorite over here.

You can serve this toasted ravioli with marinara sauce, pesto, anything you want to dip it into! Or just enjoy it as is.

What ingredients are in toasted raviolis:

  • Fresh cheese ravioli – not frozen because it won’t work as well!
  • Egg.- I haven’t tried an egg sub here
  • Gluten-free breadcrumbs – I used Italian ones so it’s seasoned already!
  • Sauce for dipping: marinara sauce or pesto is a fave!

How to make toasted ravioli in the oven:

  1. Preheat oven 425 degrees F
  2. Place wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet (this helps get them crispy)
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk the egg
  4. In another shallow dish, add breadcrumbs
  5. Gently coat a ravioli in egg, allowing excess to drip off
  6. Then coat in breadcrumbs and place on wire rack and repeat for remaining ravioli
  7. Drizzle oil on top then cook in oven for 15-18 minutes or until tops are crisp and golden (depending on the ravioli you use time will vary)
  8. Serve while warm with desired sauce and some cheese if desired!

FAQs on making Toasted Ravioli:

  • Can I use frozen ravioli for this recipe? I recommend fresh for this over frozen. The consistency would be off but you can defrost frozen ravioli if you want!
  • What kind of flavor ravioli works best? A meat-free one I think is best. We usually use cheese or a spinach and cheese mix.
  • My breadcrumbs aren’t sticking to the ravioli, help! Make sure the ravioli is dipped in the egg mixture so make sure it’s coated well.
  • Can I use any breadcrumbs? Yes! I used gluten-free ones but you can use any.
  • Do these reheat well? Yes! I do prefer them fresh from the oven but save leftovers and reheat on stovetop or oven or even microwave them too.
