This EASY Baked Feta Appetizer is a must try next time you want to whip up something flavorful, quick and are craving some with Mediterranean flare.

I have to share this appetizer recipe with you guys!! It is so incredibly easy to make and one you will make again and again. Whenever we have friends or family over, they request it. And it tastes amazing with some crostini or crackers. You can also serve it with cucumbers for something lighter too.

You will love this recipe guys! It requires minimal prep work. Just thinly slicing the olives and sun-dried tomatoes and garlic to add on top of the feta. Pop it into the oven for about 20 minutes and you are golden.

Plus this is a great way to eat feta in a new way. Especially if you love the viral baked feta pasta or if you tried my Baked Feta Salmon Dish.

What ingredients you need to make this baked feta appetizer:

  • Feta – a block of Greek feta cheese (in brine – not crumbled!). You can use cow or sheep feta for this too
  • Pitted olives – Mediterranean olives are set for this and the medley of green olives and Kalamata olives are what I usually look for
  • Sun-dried tomatoes – packed in oil so not totally dry so they have a bit of oil on them. If sun-dried tomatoes aren’t your thing then try some roasted red peppers!
  • Olive oil – preferably organic extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh garlic – fresh minced garlic is best but I have had great success with garlic powder when I don’t have any garlic cloves
  • Crackers, crostini, baguettes for dipping

How to make this easy baked feta:

  1. Add feta to a small greased baking dish or greased rimmed sheet pan
  2. Make sure the olives, garlic and sun-dried tomatoes are finely chopped then add onto the feta and press down and drizzle olive oil on top and spices
  3. Bake in oven for 20 minutes and broil for 1 minute or so then serve with desired crackers, pita chips or bread!

FAQs on making this baked feta appetizer:

  • My favorite feta to use for this is the kind that comes in brine liquid. You don’t want to use crumbles for this. And I usually use sheep or cow’s feta. Either works for it. But make sure to pat the feta dry before baking
  • This recipe is really easy to use different ingredients to suit your cravings and what you want to make! Adding honey or hot honey is a great idea and some red pepper flakes if you want something spicy (I prefer the Mediterranean spin)
  • You can also add this dish on top of pasta like that viral tiktok trend! it is absolutely delicious and a great easy meal to make.
  • When you want to reheat leftovers, add back into oven at a lower temp (325 degrees F) until warmed
  • You won’t be looking for the feta to melt but soften a bit. So be sure not too over cook!
