What ingredients you need to make Baked Brie with Candied Walnuts and Jam:

  • Brie wheel – I usually use 8 ounces but give or take that size can work
  • Jam – any favor works like raspberry, blueberry, apricot, etc. Whichever you prefer
  • Chopped walnuts – you can also use pecans or sliced almonds if you don’t eat nuts
  • Maple syrup or honey – plus more for garnish on top too at the end
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary leaves – optional for garnish on top of the brie

How to make the easiest Baked Brie recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and place your wheel of brief on a parchment paper lined baking sheet or small baking dish
  2. Cut a criss-cross pattern about 1/2 inch deep into the brie
  3. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until brie is oozing a bit
  4. While brie bakes, toast the walnuts by cooking over medium/low heat with maple syrup
  5. Make sure to stir often and don’t over toast or the nuts will burn
  6. Remove from heat and set aside
  7. When brie is done, spoon the jam on top and spread across then add candied walnuts, drizzle with extra syrup if desired and serve with crackers or baguette

Tips and FAQs on making Baked Brie with Jam and Candied Walnuts:

  • Do you cut the rind off of the brie before baking? Nope! The rind is edible and adds texture and flavor and also gives the brie some support while cooking. If you don’t like it, just eat around it. But you 100% need it for the brie to bake.
  • How do you know when baked brie is done? 20 minutes is a good number. When the top starts to ooze and looks gooey, the brie is done. The cheese is warm and slightly melted too. Just touch the top of it and also if it jiggles like jello, you are good.
  • What do you serve with baked brie? A cracker (love a fruit and nut one), toasted baguette slices or if you want something without bread, use apple slices too.
  • What do I do with leftovers of the brie? Save it in the fridge and reheat leftovers in oven.
