These Rice Krispie Treats on a Stick are a family favorite to make for dessert. You only need 3 ingredients to make them and then you can dip or drizzle them in anything you want!
These are one of my favorite desserts EVER. And one I know you guys are going to absolutely love too.
What ingredients you need to make Rice Krispie Treats on a stick:
- Brown rice crisp cereal – I like using an organic one with no add sugar when I can find one!
- Mini marshmallows – Mini is my preference here but big marshmallows also do the trick too. You can use a vegan marshmallow if you prefer as well.
- Butter – Can be frozen or from fridge. I haven’t tested with an oil but I’d assume a vegan butter works as long as measurement is the same.
- Vanilla extract – the secret ingredient that makes rice krispie treats even more delicious!
- Melted chocolate – I used rainbow white chocolate chips to make them rainbow. You can also dip these in some sprinkles too!
How to make these Rice Krispies on a stick:
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium/low heat, stirring occasionally
- Add in the marshmallows once melted and stir to melt the marshmallows well (I leave heat on low for this)
- Stir in the vanilla extract and remove from heat
- Add the brown rice crisps to the pot and mix all together so the cereal is evenly coated by the marshmallows
- Grease a 9×13 baking dish well then press down the rice krispie treats into the dish. I like to grease the spatula with oil and it makes it easier to press down and not get too sticky
- Allow the rice krispie treats to set for 30 minutes
- Next cut the rice krispie treats into about 12-16 bars
- Gently put a popsicle stick inside each then dip or drizzle with melted chocolate
- Allow the rice krispie treats to set on some parchment paper then enjoy!
FAQs about making Rice Krispie Treats on a stick:
- How long do these stay good for?! Usually they’re best to eat within 5 days of making. I also love putting them in the microwave to warm them up once you have them for a couple days (so good)!
- Can you use anything besides butter? You can definitely use a vegan butter but I also share some rice krispie recipes below that don’t call for butter or marshmallows
- Do you give these to your kids? I do but not as
