This Whipped Feta Dip with Olives is the best quick appetizer to make. You can’t beat how simple and flavorful it is and great to pair with pita bread, crackers or veggies.
Chances are you have heard of whipped feta by now. We have made Creamy Whipped Feta Pasta Salad and my INSANE Creamy Whipped Feta Dip Recipe here and today we are switching things up with this olive version.
I am always amazed on how easy this is to make. Whipped feta dip is salty, creamy, a little sweet and savory. Plus it pairs so well with different crackers and pita breads or you can use veggies too. It is love at first bite when you try this. And every time we make it for friends, it is the star of the show.
If you love olives, look no further than this garlicky olive feta dip. This recipe is quick to make, always a crowd pleaser, full of flavor and easy to make ahead of time. I love making a batch of this and keeping it in the fridge too to snack on during the week. My boys are obsessed with it!
You only need a few ingredients for both the dip part and the olive topping. It takes 5 minutes of effort to put together. And I love letting it chill for a bit before serving if time allows. Or if you are rushing, that is optional.
I cannot wait to hear what you think of this! Keep me posted on when you make.
What ingredients are in creamy Whipped Feta Dip:
- Pitted olives – I did 1 cup Kalamata and 1 cup green olives for this
- Garlic – fresh garlic cloves minced really brings out the flavor for the dip
- Lemon – I prefer using lemon juice from fresh lemons
- Dried oregano – add for flavor with the olives
- Extra-virgin olive oil – the olive oil you use should be high quality. Extra-virgin olive oil is the only oil I recommend for this recipe
- Feta cheese – the main star of the dip. I don’t recommend another sub to achieve the same flavor this dip brings but if you prefer goat cheese, you could use that
- Cream cheese – this adds extra creaminess to the dip
- Greek yogurt – I love adding this to add protein to the feta dip and also make it creamier
How to make Whipped Feta Dip with olives:
- Chop the olives into small pieces
- Add to a bowl and mix with the garlic, lemon juice, oregano, oil and red pepper and set aside
- Next add feta dip ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth
- Add feta dip to a bowl, cover and chill in the fridge for a few minutes to thicken or overnight if prepping ahead of time (you don’t technically need to chill but I like to if I have time)
- Before serving add the olive topping on top of the whipped feta dip and serve with desired crackers, pita bread or veggies
FAQs on making Whipped Feta Dip with Olives:
- How long does feta dip stay good for? 5 days in the fridge! I don’t recommend freezing this. I also like to serve it cool or room temperature.
- What can I serve with this dip? Your crackers crackers, pita bread, veggies like cucumbers or carrots, anything! It also works well in a salad or grain bowl as a dressing.
- I don’t have a food processor, what do I do? Use your high-speed blender instead. You definitely need something to whip it all together so the dip gets creamy.
- What olives should I use? I did a mix of kalamata and green olives for this. But use your favorites.
