Have you tried the Goat Cheese Board trend yet? It is a must make for your next charcuterie board. This recipe went viral and for good reason. It is so delicious and easy to make.goat cheese board

If we are putting together an appetizer, chances are that I will be making a charcuterie board of sorts. And this goat cheese board went viral for a reason guys. It is inspired by the butter board trend, but if butter isn’t your go-to then this a great option. I am a huge fan of all things goat cheese. It is one of the only cheeses I like to snack on so you could imagine how much I was loving this goat cheese board spread.

This is like a deconstructed charcuterie board  of sorts and it is SO good. It’s easy to make and less work than a charcuterie board too. I made this for us as an afternoon snack and needless to say, between us and the kids it was gone. Even though the kids are really just there for the grapes and crispbread we served with it.

I love how you can also easily bring this as appetizer if you’re going to someone’s house as it’s easy to transport and such a good spread for a crowd. I did a smaller serving size just for about 4-5 people, but you can absolutely double this recipe if you’d like. It’s one of those recipes that you’ll come back to again and again. Likely because of how easy it is. But also because of how delicious it is too.

This takes a total of 10 minutes or less to put together and it not only is gorgeous, it is also so tasty. I’m still unsure who was the first to do the the spin off of the goat cheese trend based off the butter board, but I love you and this was pure genius.

I cannot wait to hear what you think of this if you try it. Let me know if you make it too!

What ingredients you need to make the goat cheese board:

  • Creamy goat cheese – I use plain usually and I like to look for organic when possible
  • Fig jam or your go-to fruit jam – I like using fig or a blackberry jam for this. But really any can work. It adds sweetness to the board that is so delicious!
  • Dried or fresh figs – cut into small slices. Depending on the season it may be hard to find fresh figs. I have used both dried and fresh and they’re both great options
  • Grapes – I usually use green grapes but you can use red grapes if you prefer
  • Chopped almonds, walnuts or pecans – I used marcona almonds yum
  • Fresh sage – if your’e not a fan of sage, you can also use thyme too
  • Drizzle of honey and flakey sea salt to taste
  • For serving: desired crackers, crispbread or veggies

How to make this goat cheese board:

  1. On a cleaned cutting board (I used a round wooden one) smear the goat cheese and spread it evenly across the board
  2. Add on the dollops of jam, figs, grapes, nuts, sage and sea salt across the cheese
  3. Serve with desired crackers, bread or veggies

FAQs and tips on making the viral goat cheese board:

  • I don’t love goat cheese, what else can I use? Goat cheese is a great option for this because of how creamy and spreadable it is. I personally don’t have another cheese I have used for this but if you have a go-to that is similar in consistency, go for it.
  • Can I use dairy-free goat cheese? Yes! As long as it is similar consistency to regular goat cheese, that should work.
  • Can I prep this goat cheese board ahead of time? You can definitely spread the goat cheese across the cutting board and store in fridge until ready to serve. You could also add toppings and store for about 1-2 hours in fridge too but don’t prep it overnight.
  • What if I don’t have a cutting board? No problem! Use a large plate or platter of sorts. You just want a long flat surface to make this on.
  • Any other topping ideas? Add some fresh strawberries, apple slices for fruit. Or if you want savory you could also do cured meats or olives as well. Think charcuterie board things!
