If you are looking for an easy and tasty appetizer to make – look no further than this whipped goat cheese with grilled strawberries (or you can roasted them in the oven). It’s the best way to serve strawberries in a different way and who doesn’t love a creamy goat cheese dip.

Most often when you see a whipped goat cheese dip, it’s more on the savory side. But this  dip is on the sweeter side which I love. It has balsamic on it which adds a mix of sweet and a little tangy too.

You can save this dip with your favorite crackers, toasted bread or even some veggies. I love how easy this is to make and you can either cook the strawberries on the grill or in the oven (whatever is easier for you!).

I cannot wait to hear what you guys think of this recipe! I hope you love it as much as we do.

What ingredients are in this whipped goat cheese strawberry dip:

  • Goat cheese – I usually get plain – not one with herbs or anything
  • Plain greek yogurt – thick yogurt – not thin works best. If it is too thin then the dip will be more watery/thin
  • Olive oil – I usually use organic extra virgin olive oil for this recipe
  • Strawberries – fresh strawberries not frozen for this recipe as frozen would be too watery
  • Balsamic vinegar – not a dressing, actual balsamic vinegar
  • Honey or maple syrup – either works. I have used both
  • Crackers, toasted baguette, cucumbers, anything!

How to make grilled strawberries with creamy goat cheese dip:

  1. First prepare the whipped goat cheese by adding ingredients to food processor or blender and blend until smooth and creamy
  2. Add to a bowl or Tupperware and put in fridge to chill while you make the strawberries
  3. Warm the grill to medium high heat or oven to 350 degrees F
  4. Remove the stems from the strawberries and slice in half if too large
  5. Mix together the strawberries in the balsamic and honey
  6. Add to an oven or grill safe skillet then cook for about 10-15 minutes (mixing the berries half way) or until they are caramelized and softened
  7. Add the cooked berries on top of the goat cheese and serve with some basil on top if desired with your favorite crackers, bread or veggies

FAQs on making this creamy whipped goat cheese dip with strawberries:

  • Do I need to let the goat cheese soften a bit before making? You don’t have to since you are blending it in food processor. Then you chill it anyways until the strawberries are read.
  • What kind of goat cheese works best? Be sure to read the ingredient list of the cheese you choose. Some have added ingredients like garlic or onion and that wouldn’t be good for this recipe.
  • What kind of yogurt works best for this? I recommend a thicker yogurt so it doesn’t get too din.
  • Does this dip stay good if there is leftover? We typically devour this when we make it ha! But yes, it can stay good in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • How should I serve this goat cheese dip? You can smear it onto some toasted bread, your favorite crackers or some veggies like cucumbers.
