First of all this cake is a mix between brownies and chocolate cake. It is a little more dense than your usual chocolate cake, which is why it’s a brownie cake. It reminds me of Duncan Hines brownies but in a cake form. Like a thicker, richer and even more insanely delicious experience.
Also this brownie cake is one of those foolproof recipes. It is not only beyond easy to make. But it also can get someone who is skeptical on healthy eating to actually eat a healthy cake and not complain. What ingredients are in this healthy paleo brownie cake:
- Coconut sugar
- Non-dairy milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Apple cider vinegar
- Almond flour
- Cocoa powder
- Coconut flour
- Chocolate chips
- Chocolate frosting
How to make this gluten-free chocolatey cake:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8 inch cake pan or 9 inch cake pan well
- Whisk together coconut sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla extract and apple cider vinegar
- Add in almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut flour and baking powder and mix until smooth
- Melt the chocolate chips and allow it to cool for a few then poor into batter (you can skip melting if you want but it makes it extra chocolatey!)
- Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes (I stick a toothpick in to see if it’s ready)
- Allow the cake to cool then frost, slice and enjoy!

- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 1 cup non-dairy milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
