- Bacon, cooked and chopped
- Garlic cloves
- Broth (veggie or chicken works)
- Broccoli rabe, washed and trimmed 1 inch of stems off
- Sea salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: parmesan cheese to garnish
How to make this easy broccoli rabe side dish:
- Warm a large skillet over medium/high heat and add in the bacon and garlic
- Allow the bacon to crisp a bit and when the fat is released, this acts as an oil for the pan
- Add in the broth and bring to a low boil then add in the broccoli rabe and stir all together, season with salt and pepper
- Cover with the lid and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes until softened (if there is still too much liquid after, cook for a couple minutes without the lid on medium heat)
- Serve while warm with desired main dishes
