You know those Healthy Flourless Brownies that we have all be loving and eating for the last year? Well let me introduce you to their sibling – paleo PEPPERMINT BROWNIES BABY!

These are the ultimate holiday brownie recipe to make for the holidays. Especially for all my peppermint lovers because apparently you guys really love peppermint things. They are the most requested recipe type for the holidays this year. And now we have some gluten-free peppermint brownies to bake together.

I used my insanely popular flourless brownie recipe to whip these up. Made a few tweaks to the recipe to make them holiday-ish. Like peppermint extract, some homemade chocolates FROSTING! Oh and some crushed candied mints on time. Totally optional to add those too or even sprinkles, but why the beep not make things more festive over here?!

If you guys love this recipe as much as I hope you do, leave a comment below! And don’t forget to share with us over on Instagram too!

What ingredients you need to make these paleo peppermint brownies with chocolate frosting:

Paleo brownies:

  • Tahini – or any creamy nut butter
  • Maple syrup
  • Coconut sugar
  • Eggs – flax eggs should work too
  • Vanilla extract
  • Peppermint extract
  • Cacao powder – not coca powder!
  • Dark chocolate chips – code RACHL for free shipping
  • Non-dairy milk – not full-fat coconut milk!

How to make the best ever healthier gluten-free and nut-free peppermint brownies:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper and grease well
  2. Creamy together the tahini, maple syrup, coconut sugar, eggs, peppermint extract and vanilla
  3. Mix in the cacao powder and baking powder until well combined (it will be thick!)
  4. Fold in dark chocolate gems then add batter to baking dish and sprinkle with sea salt if desired
  5. Bake in oven for 22-25 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean when you poke the brownies)
  6. While the brownies bake, begin making chocolate frosting by adding together the chocolate chips and non-dairy milk to a small sauce pan
  7. Melt over medium low heat until smooth and creamy, stirring consistently
  8. Remove from heat and put in fridge to set – stirring every 2 minutes or so
  9. Once the brownies are done, allow them to cool for a few minutes (this is key so they set!) frost them with chocolate frosting and sprinkle extra peppermint candies on top or sprinkles if desired!
