These Cheeseburger Nuggets are the ultimate comfort food to make using ground beef. They are gluten-free, great for kids and adults and ready in 25 minutes.

If you love my viral paleo chicken nuggets – you will swoon over these cheeseburger ones too! One of our new go-to recipes for us and the kids and they are made with all gluten-free and grain-free ingredients too.

I love making nostalgic recipes that are made with simple ingredients at home. As you know it is my bread and butter and these cheeseburger nuggets hit the spot every single time. They take only 25 minutes to make and you can pair them with any sides you want like Japanese Sweet Potato Fries and Crispy Parmesan Brussels Sprouts.

My kids devour these and they also are a great recipe to prep and keep in the freezer. You can easily defrost a few hours before eating or overnight. So if you are looking to stock your freezer up with some delish recipes – add these!

The flavors in these nuggets just work. Cheese, beef, the onion and you won’t taste the carrot in them. They just add some extra nutrients to the nuggets.

What ingredients you need to make cheeseburger nuggets:

  • Carrot – finely chopped but you can also omit if you don’t have or don’t like carrots. I like sneaking in the veggies whenever I can!
  • White onion – chopped finely or if you’re my husband, he likes to grate it so it’s almost like a puree
  • Egg – I haven’t tested an egg sub for this
  • Cheddar cheese – shredded from fresh block of cheddar cheese or buy pre-shredded
  • Grass-fed beef – I always look for grass-fed/grass-finished beef for quality of the beef
  • Garlic powder and onion powder
  • Almond flour – I haven’t used another flour but you can likely use a gluten-free all purpose flour or regular all purpose flour if you aren’t gluten-free

How to make gluten-free cheeseburger nuggets:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the broccoli, carrot, chicken, egg and spices and mix together to fully combine
  3. Mix together the breading ingredients in a small bowl
  4. Using clean hands, scoop about 2-3 tablespoons of the chicken nugget mixture into your hands and form into an egg shape then dip in breading to evenly coat and add to baking sheet
  5. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes then serve with your favorite dipping sauce! I love using mustardbuffalo sauce and ketchup!

FAQs on making cheeseburger nuggets:

  • If beef isn’t your thing, you can use ground turkey or chicken too and make them “burger nuggets” using whatever meat you choose.
  • The carrots in here are for extra nutrients and the addition of veggies. You don’t taste them at all and if you are anything like me, I’m not the best at getting veggies in so sneaking things in like this is a must over here.
  • With that being said, if you prefer to add in other veggies like broccoli, spinach, or anything you can too.
  • You can likely air fry these too if you prefer. Just use your best judgment on timing. I’d say it would be similar 20 minutes or so but I personally haven’t tried.
  • If you make a batch of these you can also freeze some too to defrost and eat at a later date. They stay good in the freezer for 3 months or fridge for 5 days.
  • These are a great finger food to make for kids, serve at parties as appetizers or anything! My kids can feed these to themselves too so that is always a win.
