These Gluten-free Oatmeal Blender Waffles are such an easy and delicious waffle recipe to whip up when the craving strikes. Plus they have no added sugar and are a delicious and healthy waffle recipe for the whole family (toddler approved!)
I am pretty sure Ezra takes after his mama when it comes to an absolute love affair with breakfast foods. The kid will eat any and all breakfast foods ever. And he wakes up in the morning and asks for breakfast the second we walk into his room.
I always like to make him something special. Even if that is making a yogurt parfait of sorts with granola or some overnight oats or some of these epic waffles. And we hang at the counter together, eat breakfast and I pretend to know what the beep he is saying when I ask him about what he dreamt about last night or what he is going to do for the day.
But the best part? Seeing Ezra’s reaction when I give him the breakfast itself. He freaks out and dances and claps and acts like he hasn’t seem a meal in 10 years. His favorite breakfast to eat lately are these homemade waffles. And now don’t get all crazy – they are so easy to make. So don’t let “homemade waffles” scare you. These are one of those easy peasy recipes that you will keep coming back to over and over again.
You toss all the ingredients in a blender and they are foolproof. And I love that these are freezer-friendly too. So if you want to make an extra batch or double the recipe – do it! You can easily toss one in the toaster or warm them in the oven when you want to eat.
What ingredients you need to make these easy blender waffles:
- Gluten-free rolled oats
- Banana – or sub about 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
- Creamy nut butter (code RACHL for free shipping)
- Non-dairy milk
- Egg – flax egg should work too!
- Vanilla extract
- Baking powder
How to make healthy gluten-free oatmeal waffles:
- Add 1 cup of the oats to a high speed blender or food processor and blend until the oats are in a flour-like consistency
- Add in banana, nut butter, milk, egg, vanilla and baking powder and blend again until smooth
- Mix in the additional 1/3 cup oats and stir with a spatula (this is also when you’d add in any other mix-in’s like chocolate chips, blueberries, etc.)
- Heat your waffle iron and grease if needed (I used this mini waffle iron)
- Scoop about 1/3 cup of batter into the iron (amount will vary based off the size of your waffle iron) and cook until ready
- Serve with desired toppings!

*Store leftovers in fridge for 5 days or freezer for 2 months
