Yogurt Marinated Moroccan Chicken made with just a few ingredients for a healthy and delicious chicken recipe!

Moroccan Chicken

This Moroccan chicken might be at the top of the list of all the savory goodness lately on the blog! Who is pumped?!

I 10000% am. And that is for a few reasons..

Reason #1 – the more savory food I make, the less I have to think about what to make us for dinner that day ha! I love when I test something for the blog and we get to have it for dinner for a couple nights. It makes things oh so much easier and one of the major perks of recipe testing as your job.

Reason #2 – now you guys can believe me when I say I don’t eat cookies for every meal! I eat them everyday, that is for sure. But I do get in my 3 meals a day in addition. And believe it or not, even some veggies 😉

This Moroccan Chicken recipe though is going to be one of your new dinner time favorites. I just know it. It is such an easy way to spice up your weeknight dinner routine and makes chicken taste even better. Because we all know that it is really easy to get bored with the same old chicken recipe. And this is one that you can make some extra so you can leftover for the week. And it is one that you can either cook on a skillet or even if you have a grill. But if you do indeed have a grill, invite us over. We have serious FOMO!

I hope you guys love this recipe as much as we do over here. I cannot wait to hear what you think!

Yogurt Marinated Moroccan Chicken paired with a pasta salad

What ingredients you need to make yogurt marinated chicken:

  • Boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Full-fat plain yogurt
  • Moroccan tomato sauce (I used this one)
  • Cumin
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or avocado oil for greasing the skillet

How to make this easy Moroccan chicken:

  1. Whisk together the yogurt, Moroccan tomato sauce and spices together
  2. Add the chicken to a baking dish or a large ziplock bag and add in the yogurt mixture and evenly coat the chicken
  3. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight if you can
  4. When ready to cook, warm a large skillet or grill pan with a little oil over high heat
  5. Turn heat down to medium and add chicken to skillet
  6. Cook for about 5 minutes then flip and cook on the other side (cook times will vary based off the thickness of the chicken!)
  7. Remove from heat and serve with desired sides
