Let’s make these easy Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos! A simple lunchbox idea for kids or adults, made with just 4 ingredients and can easily be made nut-free.

The school year is starting and we are in full on lunch box swing over here with packing lunches, snacks and all of the things. Since peanut butter is a personal favorite, I do make these with peanut butter when we have them at home. But you can easily make these nut-free using sunflower seed butter as you’ll see below if you need to do nut-free.

Peanut butter and jelly is one of the things that my kids will eat 9 out of 10 times. So I try to switch things up on how we serve it to them. They’re simple to make, sound 100x fancier then they actually are. And these are perfect for lunchboxes! I first made them for my 4 year old when he went to the zoo and he was obsessed with the fact that it was a taco but peanut butter and jelly.

These are also pretty budget friendly and use all pantry staples that most parents keep on hand.

These fun Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos include just 4 ingredients: bread, nut butter (or seed butter), jelly and fruit. They’re simple to make and the only kitchen tools you need are a large round cookie cutter or drinking glass to cut the bread!

These stay fresh for a day or so in the fridge so it’s also great to prep the night before if you want. You can use fresh fruits like strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, banana or anything you have on hand. Or make them fancier with some chocolate chips on top! The sky is the limit for toppings on these tacos. I do recommend a softer bread for the sandwich so it’s easier to roll up to into taco form.

Let me know if you make these! I cannot wait to hear what you think.

What ingredients you need to make these fruit tacos:

How to make Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos:

  1. Using a large cup or large circle cookie cutter, cut the biggest circle you can out of the slice of bread (I typically eat the scraps!)
  2. Use the side of a cup or rolling pin to lightly roll over the bread to flatten it slightly
  3. Spread nut butter then jam across bread
  4. Gently fold into taco shape and top with berries and add to lunchbox or enjoy!

FAQs and tips on making these PB&J Sandwich “Tacos”:

  • What kind of bread should I use? Any soft sandwich bread that doesn’t need to be toasted. It shouldn’t be frozen when making the tacos.
  • Can I prep these ahead of time? Yes! I make them the night before if needed or in the morning. They can stay good overnight in the fridge.
  • Are these nut free? If you use sunflower seed butter then yes!
