Insanely Tasty Homemade Spaghetti O’s made with a few simple dairy-free ingredients for an easy and healthier spaghetti O recipe at home!

I don’t know what is more shocking…

The fact that Jord has never had Spaghetti O’s. Or the fact that I used to eat these every week growing up – HA! But really – I was obsessed with these. I used to eat the mini meatball ones or the hot dog ones. They were one of those “meals” I’d make when my mom wasn’t home for lunch or dinner and I wanted something easy. Or I’d say I didn’t like the meal she made just so I had an excuse to eat them.

But we all know that the real deal Spaghetti O’s are filled with so many unnecessary ingredients. They’re not healthy. They’re overly processed and while they sure do taste good – it’s not something I’d like to feed my kids now.

These healthier ones on the other hand? YUP! They’re amazingly delicious and so easy to make. Plus they’re even dairy-free since I use nutritional yeast instead of cheese. But you can also use cheese if you want. We have made them both ways and they are are equally delicious. Also feel free to omit the sausage if you want to make these totally vegan. I love adding some for a little extra flavor and protein!

What ingredients you need to make homemade Spaghetti O’s:

  • Tiny pasta of choice – I used these O’s! but really any tiny pasta can work
  • Cooked sausage or meatballs, cut into small pieces
  • Tomato sauce of choice
  • Filtered water
  • Non-dairy milk of choice
  • Onion powder
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • Vegan butter (or regular butter)
  • Nutritional yeast (or shredded parm)

How to make healthier Spaghetti O’s:

  1. In a large pot combine the sauce, water, milk, onion powder, salt, pepper, butter and nutritional yeast and bring to a boil
  2. Lower heat to medium then add in the cooked pasta and meat and allow everything to cook together for a few minutes then serve while warm!
