This One Pan Pizza Chicken is a MUST make. Think chicken parmesan with a twist. Plus it is low carb, cheesy and incredibly easy to make for a weeknight meal.  pizza chicken

We are a family who lives to stuff our faces with pizza. But also want to eat something healthy and even though pizza is “healthy” in its own way – ya can’t eat it every single day. But this one pan pizza chicken? A delicious and fun way to enjoy a pizza craving but also get your protein in.

This kind of reminds me of a spin on chicken parmesan or so! It is so easy to make and if you are someone who is looking for a low carb meal, try this chicken dish!

As someone who could happily eat pizza just about any day of the week – this recipe delivers on flavor but it’s healthier and a fun way to switch up a boring old chicken recipe.

This dinner is great for adults, kids, anyone. And it is one of my one pan meals that don’t dirty up your entire kitchen, which is also a huge plus. All while also feeding you AND your family. Feel free to double the recipe too if needed.

What ingredients are in this One Pan Pizza Chicken:

  • Skinless chicken breasts – you can also use chicken thighs if you prefer but cook time will vary
  • Olive oil – or use your favorite cooking oil
  • Marinara sauce – your favorite pasta sauce works!
  • Mozzarella cheese – a mix of shredded cheese and then thick slices of mozzarella cheese log
  • Pepperoni – you can use regular pepperoni or turkey pepperoni
  • Grated parmesan cheese – I love adding this on top!

How to make oven-baked Pizza Chicken:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  2. Pour a generous spoonful of sauce to large baking dish then add chicken
  3. Drizzle oil on top and season with salt, pepper and seasoning
  4. Add the thick slices of cheese on top of chicken followed by pepperoni then remaining sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese (sprinkle additional pepperoni on top if desired!)
  5. Bake in oven for 25 minutes or until internal temperature on chicken reaches 165 F
  6. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top and serve while warm!

FAQs and tips on making pizza chicken:

  • Can I meal prep this dish? Absolutely! I recommend cooking it then storing leftovers in airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
  • How should I reheat this dish? Rewarm the pizza chicken in a skillet on stovetop on medium/low heat or in the microwave.
  • What kind of chicken should I use? I love using boneless skinless chicken breasts. Nothing too thick and if they are thick, cut them in half so the bake time isn’t too different. Boneless skinless chicken thighs could work too.
  • Is pizza chicken spicy? It’s not. It has a little something from the pepperoni but not spicy. My kids love it! Add some chili flakes and red pepper if you want this spicier.
